The great advantage of a Fire Island hotel is that it is a refuge from hotel life itself. There are no organized activities and room service is unheard of. If you want a bellboy to carry your luggage, bring your own, and dressing for dinner means a comfortable shirt and pants.

If you plan to come on a weekend, you should make your reservation well in advance during the summer season. Weekday accommodations are easier to et and cheaper.
